It's official today, my copy with goodies is paid in full and I eagerly await to answer the question, will it be as good or better than F3. I've said it elswhere, it's going to ba a tough act to follow. F3 continues to entertain. I'll be building a nice glass covered shadowbox for the chips and cards. This will be a welcome distracton to the elections.
I looked through the set release dates for the remainder ofthe year and I see 3-4 purchases for the rest of the year. New Vegas is at the top of the list... So I'll be along with you riding shotgun.
You know what... it would be kind of awesome if you and your buddies could posse up in the wasteland for certain missions. I wonder why they don't do this at some point?
Bethesda has said they wont do multiplayer games...effectively they've said that they want to be the best single player adventure/rpg shop in the world, and if they aren't they're damn close. They did release one multiplayer game that I know of, can anyone guess the name?
Agreed. This was once a dream of others who did indeed make a concerted effort and called it Project V13. I eagerly await their completion.
Same here, I got one of the upgraded ones so I get goodies too! I may well be there at midnight for this one, that is if I can get permission from my wife.
Funny how that works, Caboose. I just got permission from my wife to pull an all-nighter the night Black Ops comes out. I'm all paid up too. I think I'll wait til morning to get started on New Vegas though.
Sadly I have to work that Tuesday, and I'm going to be doing overtime. Started a new job that allows me up to two hours of overtime a night, so I'm going to be taking advantage of that.
As I get this a few days behind you lot I better see some decent hints n tips in here by the time I'm installing
Cricket finals tomorrow evening, unless it rains. I have placated the girlfriend and made sure she'll ber cool withbme ignoring her for awhile, plus she wants to watch headshots in slo-mo, so I'm all set there. See you on the other side, Ray.
I just read that Fallout New Vegas has announced DLC for sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas... For the Xbox 360 only. Since Obsidian/Bethesda is not supporting my console, I will not support them. When they announce DLC for the PS3, I will pick it up.
That's just something PC nerds say to make themselves feel less nerdy. but seriously... what's the difference? I like the interface of the controller and playing from the comfort of my couch on my HDTV. so has anyone here played it yet and have something to share?
Oo the one thing I'd really like to know from the early players is how to easily score a place to stay. It makes things sooo much easier when you have a chest to dump your stuff in. It was always the first thing I did in fallout 3, straight to the bomb,.. deactivate,.. claim the house.
In any single player game of the sort, the first thing I always do is to implement the cheat for essentially unlimited carrying capacity. I hate inventory management in games. When realism means a lot of extra running back and forth to sell/store items and no extra complexity or difficulty, screw realism. Deliberately making obviously optimal gameplay stupefyingly tedious is a design flaw. In Fallout 3, carrying capacity is a variable you can directly change in the console.
yOU JUST WANT A LESIan shot gun wedding go bakc ti playign that sappho's daughter mod that adds that stuff to dragon age liet.
So we won our cricket game and took the Dulles Cup. Now I can shoot people in the head tonight. Anyone have any first impressions?
Man!! Has anyone heard from Caboose since the release? I imagine he's probably somewhere in the middle of the Mojave Wasteland killing boatfies or something right about now and has abandoned Wordforge.
I will say that I have only and will only play Bethesda-released games on a PC. The in-game console is just way too much of a powerful tool to be ignored in favor of a console-device version of their games. I still play Morrowind from time to time (10? years later?) as you can do all sorts of interesting things with the console and there are literally thousands of user-created mods that can enhance the game. Oblivion has a similar following, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of mods written for FO3. Plus, there comes a time, once you've beaten the vanilla version of the game a few times, where you just want to see who you can and can't kill when you start the game with a sniper rifle and unlimited ammo (unfortunately I wasn't able to gun down the kids at the party).
So far so good. Gameplay is slightly different in a few aspects but for the most part it's definately Fallout. New factions, new perks, brutally satisfying, Wayne Newton on the radio playing some old country and western classics, yea, I'm finding it hard to put the controller down. So far I have yet to find a "home plate" as it were with an owned bed and am set up in the first town at what could be described as the common house. My stuff seems to be staying in the frige and cabinetry so that's all that matters I guess but the additional exp points from being well rested would be nice. Did I mention brutal? Yea, I'm trying to figure out how to whack a Deathclaw and it's isn't an easy task. Speaking of brutal, of the two main factions the Legion make Raiders look like grandma inviting you over to tea and crumpets. The other seems a bit facist but is definately the more desired of the two from the good guy standpoint. There's a hardcore mode on this one as well that integrates a few more factors to deal with in the mix like hydration for those out there who take this game all too seriously. I am pleased.
