Right, but in the beginning of season 2, there was a lot of seemingly hap-hazard crime fighting on Quinn's part. The whole trip to Russia episode was kind of pointless (a decently done episode, I'll admit, but didn't seem to add much to the characters).
I think the Russia trip was mostly to put more of a spotlight on Diggle, and to name-drop "HIVE" for future stories.
He's like...IRON Atom. I'm glad that Routh got this part. Even if Superman Returns was not the perfect Superman film, I really wanted to see him continue in the role.
And Superman Returns is a classic case of a film that's considered a "flop," even though it returned a profit. Its problem was that it had to absorb the costs of the various abortive attempts to make a Superman film in years previous, and it didn't rack up big bank like the suits expected. I liked the take of Supes not quite being the perfect Boy Scout of a hero.
Don't know that I'd go that far, but Routh was better in the film than the film's reception would lead one to think. Superman Returns did decent business, yes. And I, too, liked it's more human Man of Steel. I'm not unhappy with the new direction the films are going, though.
Is anyone still watching Constantine? It has its moments, and I so want it to succeed, but often it seems all over the place. Vision girl especially seems to be playing from a completely different script than everyone else; I don't get the actress' choices at all.
I like it a lot, but I don't think it's going to get renewed. Haven't noticed anything really wrong with Zed (vision girl), but she is very easy on the eyes
I lost interest in Constantine by the end of the second episode. The show feels very rushed and sloppy, and too much "monster of the week" for me. Which, incidentally, is a trap Sleepy Hollow seems to be falling into, altho there are hints that they're just in a sort of interstitial until the next major story arc starts spinning up.
As long as SH keeps having those wonderful "what the fuck is it with the 21st century?" moments out of Crane, I'm interested. Hell, I'd watch a whole episode that was nothing but that. I like Constantine okay, but it doesn't wow me.
Those little man-out-of-time moments are one of my favorite bits of the show. The guy who plays Crane is just spot-on perfect and very enjoyable to watch.
Emily Kinney (Beth from Walking Dead) is joining The Flash as a villain. http://www.superherohype.com/news/3...ily-kinney-joins-the-flash-as-bug-eyed-bandit
SyFy might rescue Constantine. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/35748/-constantine-reboots-as-syfy-s-hellblazer
I was hoping it might fit in with their new interest in actual SF drama. Hopefully it will happen and it won't be the last time
RE Gotham - I think it is unmistakeably clear that we are "off book" in this universe now. We can no longer assume that, for example, "future Riddler" will actually become the Riddler in the normal continuity. Why? Because the effectively burned Scarecrow last night. I do not present this as a BAD thing, just noting that it is a thing - if for no other reason than there's hope we'll see Barbara killed off at some point.
I also feel that they are at least making us think they might go off the book. But I don't agree with the Scarecrow problem. Only Scarecrow knows about the scarecrow itself, and the general topic of fear seems much too general to me; plus, knowing who he is doesn't help that much, unless he's also running Arkham, in which case he has many means of hiding in plain sight. Anyway. Wasn't the Riddler/Penguin scene awesome?
on another subject: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?...m_medium=referral&utm_campaign=zergnet_390021 Comics continuity aside, I like the Oracle character so much I'm down with hijacking her here. Not sure how i feel about Hawk/Dove since i never really got those characters in the comics. Obviously Raven and Starfire are musts, but I'm curious to see how they achive a more even gender balance and still use available and TV friendly characters (i.e. Arsenal is tied up, they won't use a speedster,k BB would be regulated to comic relief, Cyborg is slated for films, and so forth)
Ok, seriously, I still think the cull was a good idea, but we need at least a basic set of emoticons back. This is getting embarrassing.
Oh. My. God. That redhead kid absolutely NAILED the BoyJoker. The background of having killed a slut mother who was banging a clown is a nice twist, but it's the performance that sells it. Great episode except it needed more Bolluck
Yeah, Bullock didn't have much to do with this ep. And I agree that the proto-Joker really nailed it. Especially the facial expression once he started laughing.
Yeah, that kid really nailed it. You can see that he was channeling Nicholson rather than Ledger. And for this series, the former is better than the later.
