I work fast. Often, when the Admins want something done, whether an upgrade or a modification to something, I do it as quickly as I can, because I like to get work done. I'm not backtracking. If the Admins would have said "fuck no, keep it as it is," I'd still be cheerfully telling some of you to kiss my ass, just as I have been since the Violet Room was implemented. As for the Help Desk issue, when a permission set is created, there are about 100 options to choose from, and those options are connected to other permission sets that are connected to other permission sets that are assembled into a user permissions group. This group is combined to create the permissions profile for each user. Sometimes, I miss an option while I'm putting it together. It happens. The Help Desk issue was rectified as soon as I discovered something was wrong. I'm sure you'll attach a value judgment to that, too. On another note, some of the other Admins were under the impression that gturner was banned from the Red Room only, and that he could access the rest of the board. That wasn't so. When I setup the permission, I excluded every room but the Help Desk and the Violet Room, as that is what I thought they meant when they were talking about being restricted to the Violet Room. So it was a bit of miscommunication. NOW, on to the other subject: why do I talk so much when they don't? Well, I like to talk. That, and I'm a friendly face, much like the lovable Sgt. Schultz from Hogan's Heroes. That, and I'm pretty sure I make @Volpone hot and bothered when I'm broaching these issues, and I try to make people happy wherever I can.
You have given no full answers. You offered an initial explanation for the banning, which you have doubled down on and just regurgitated over and over. Face's questions are perfectly reasonable. What were the exact warnings given to gtardo? What is the de facto new rule and how does it impact the rest of us? Why are you, as a volunteer admin, being left to face the music while the other owners hide away? ShootER didn't support this, so you're covering the blushes of Anna and Gul. Is his Majesty Gul the First too important to come out and address the plebeians? These questions remain unanswered, and the extent of gtardo's access doesn't change the uncertainty for other members that this whole mess has created.

Your links contain nothing by hints and presumes that he clicks on a post every time he gets tagged. He is not a big rep user and he gets tagged frequently. How do you know he even read his alerts and therefore those posts? What was explicitly said to gturner directly? Where is the articulated rule that we all need to be wary of? Who are the posters driven away by gturner, as per the claim today and in the links in your post? Who else is being watched?
I changed my sig right before I implemented the Violet Room. Also, I had just watched "Past Tense" the night before, and it really seemed fitting. The sig does two things: (1), shows my love of DS9, and (2), reminds me that the Violet Room is something to be used sparingly, and that, yes, good intentions can lead to bad results.

When discussing the merits of a particular decision, I don't think the simple fact that one person wanted to go further is all that relevant. This is not a binary thing where only two options are possible.
It is whenever someone thinks it's all a grand conspiracy to get rid of a poster. What I'm saying is that none of this has been hidden, nor have the intentions of the Admins. It's been clear and right out in the open about what the Admins think of gturner. That people tie conspiracies to it is absurd.
