    ^ Suits me. They might scrape into Europe this year and then will fall from grace as the quality walks out of the door with no financial benefit.

    Still, they're better signings than we've managed.

    I'm a bit pissed off that Chelsea have just signed the traitorous cunt Ashley Cole. I got Bridge for my FF team a few days ago, a waste of 4 valuable points. :mad:

    ^ I liked the way they put it in the Observer yesterday, something along the lines of 'the only question was whether England would score more against a Pyrenian mountain top than Scotland managed against an area of the Shipping Forecast...'

    Since our qualification group has teams ranked 2nd, 4rth and 15th in the world in it. (By the way two of them are higher than Engerland! ;) ) then we need all the goals we can get against the diddies!

    the andorians obviously didn't know redshirts get slaughtered...

    i was hoping for more than 5 though, especially against a team whose national pasttime is sodomizing goats.

    Even against amateurs like Andorra, Fat Frank Lampard still plays a stinker. Just when will an England manager grow the balls to drop the useless cunt? :mad:
    Lennon must play on the right, with Gerrard and Hargreaves in the middle. McClaren best sort this out, I'm fed up of players getting into the England team on reputation alone AND playing poorly. :bang:

    Apart from the Germany game, Gerrard has now produced his best two games for England on the right. What more can you ask for??

    Gerrard would be equally effective in the centre as long as he has someone like Hargreaves watching his back. Also moving Stevie into the middle would also allow Lennon to start more games, the lad can be sensational and deserves to start a few games.
    And the biggest benefit of all this is that Lampard would be out of the team. He is a liability and has done nothing for England, save for a few deflected goals.

    12 goals from 47 caps is a pretty impressive haul for a midfielder.

    I don't care for his flukey, mostly deflected goals. Even in the games he scores in he still manages to play poorly! Take away his goals andf he is a very average footballer IMO.
    He is simply not our best option in central midfield, that is clear for most to see, why he still plays is totally beyond me. I would even prefer having Beckham back in the squad in place of Lampard (Becks was shafted to accomodate Lampard, bit of an unfair compromise if you ask me).

    5 points infront of the World champions in the group of death!!! :yeehaw:

    France looked pretty good last night.

    Watched Englands highlights later and to be fair, i wasn't impressed. At least JT was good. Camren can't even blame that England performance on Becks!

    Great result for Northern Ireland! :techman:

    *sigh* After years of mediocre shit that makes England look like Brazil you have a couple of good results and all of a sudden you're on the virge of lifting the cup...

    ...still, I shouldn't really talk about that should I...:(

    Eh no. Thats an English mentality you are talking about.

    We know full well that there is next to no chance of us qualifying. Im just pleased we have started so well.

    ^dunno, if scotland keep playing well you might just qualify.

    italy seem to have gone off the boil - they drew at lithuania where you beat them, and the ukraine aren't doing so well and the rest ought to be beatable home and away.

    france will top the group, but grab at least a point in both ukraine games and italy at home and i figure you'll do it.

    we're only three games into a new setup, and grinding out wins in hostile shitholes is acceptable for the time being.

    i'd be concerned if we were playing like that in a years time though, but for now, 3 wins from 3 with no goals conceded is a good foundation - remains to be seen if we can actually build a meaningful challenge in euro 2008 though.

    It would be good however I doubt it, look at the group we have

    Italy= world cup winners. (Rank-2)
    France= world cup finalists (Rank-4)
    Ukraine = team which got to quarter finals (Rank -15)

    Not an easy task. And then think of the fact we also have Georgia in there who boast Europes most potent striker last year.

    Compare it with your group

    England= Quarterfinalists (rank-5)
    Russia= Not qualify (rank -33)
    Isreal= Not qualify (rank - 51)

    Hmmmmmmmm! Cunts! ;)

    I'll continue to blame lacklustre England performances on the inepititude of Frank Lampard...even though he did manage a jammy assist for the goal machine and sex god that is Peter Crouch!

    I can't believe McClaren was so thrilled about yesterday's win...it was awful, exactly the same as under Sven!
    Wish I watched the France-Italy game now. :garamet:

    Congrats to N.Ireland on their win, great stuff.

    Oh, and Scotland too.

    Since Stallion is pining for my opinion on the Scots...;) I haven't seen them play for a while, self-inflicted torture isn't my idea of entertainment after all, but yeah, they've made good progress so far. I would be very impressed and shocked to the core if they manage to escape their group however.

    However, it’s conceivable that England may end up losing to either Russia or Croatia, so there may be something for the Scots to cheer about before the qualifying stages are over. :D

    The Guardian seems to have it in for him now, they've found a player analysis program that comes to a rather different conclusion than McClaren's when it comes to his contributions... :?:
