This should be a new thread,
    starting with post #54.

    As it stands now,
people will have trouble finding the code.

It's a bit early, still a month before kick off. Think I'll wait and see who else comes and goes before settling on a team.

You can make as many transfers as you want for free before the start of the season. At least it gets the main 'spending ages to pick your team' chore out of the way

    anelka, twat extraordinaire

it's all houlliers fault he's had to play for piddling little teams like man city and fenerbache :weep:

poor, poor, le sulk. all those champions league teams blindly refusing to sign him and insist on retaining their better scoring, less whining, more loyal strikers. how dare they!

i really hope bolton don't get him, we rely on teamwork and that sulking used-tampon of a human being doesn't do teamwork. he does trouble instead.

If I were the cynical sort, I'd assume that Bagpuss or one of his brood were going to be receiving some sort of 'sweetner' if Anelka goes to Pompy..

Anelka did pretty well while he was a Red. We played him up front with both Owen and Heskey and though Nico didn't score a great deal, he helped us finish strongly that season and ended up in a CL spot (something of an achievement in those days!).
At the time I wasn't too depressed that Houllier decided not to sign him, but in retrospect I wish he had done so, considering the twat he decided to sign instead - step forward El Hadj Diouf! :jayzus:

You'll do well with Bellamy, though, provided you gaffer tape his mouth up!

^ Got Pennent too, not exactly a model citizen either! Who'd have thunk it, a bunch of convicts in Liverpool! :D

The CL Qualifying draw has been made, the 5 times Champions of Europe have been drawn to play in....Israel. :gulp:
Hopefully UEFA will see reason and decide it's too dangerous to play in Israel and simply give us a bye into the next round. :D

My only concern with Pennant and Bellamy is with not turning into Newcastle or Leeds with their shower of Bowyer, Dyer etc.

That is my hope... Pennant goes bat shit crazy and Stevie and The People's Carra take him down a back alley and beat seven shades out of him.

Personaly i doubt stevie would bother about going down an alley- its his club, the way keano felt about Man U, he'd just do it on the training pitch- locker room so that everyone knew not to step out of line.

Bellamy's a grade A cunt though, I would pay to watch someone give him a good tanking!

couple of bad picks for liverpool imo.

there are some players out there who have all the skills, but not one fucking ounce of sense or probity. benitez has just bought two of them.

a good old fashioned english manager a la cloughie could handle them, but the modern bunch or the more sedate furriners? doubt it. you'll get a good season out of bellamy, maybe a half from pennant, but after that they'll start to rock the boat.

expecting gerrard or carragher to keep them in line is unfair on both of them, and if they have to their performances will suffer.

predictions: pennant to have broken the law by christmas, on the transfer list next summer; bellamy to have a good scoring season, but occasionally leaving liverpool down to 10 men costing them wins after getting sent off. argues with gerrard in close season, one leaves.

Well in our favour both lads claim to be lifelong Liverpool supporters. It doesn't mean much to some (e.g. Ashley "boyhood Gooner" Cole) but hopefully their affinity for Liverpool and realising this is their biggest shot at the big time could help them settle down a bit.

aaand united have just sold their most potent goal threat...

if nistelrooys world cup form was only a blip and united can't find a replacement source of goals, its going to be a very uncomfy season at old trafford.

There is no way ManUre will find anyone as prolific as Horsey. I think they got the best out of him to be fair and Fergie's changing his style so they won't rely on one man to get the majority of their goals.
They'll still score goals but Rooney, Saha, Solksjaer etc. will never get the amount of goals as RVN.

Given you only paid 6 million or something for Bellamy, I think you got value for money. If he's handled well (Robson) he'll do well for you. If not (Souness) then it'll all go tits up in no time.

Still waiting for Newcastle to buy someone to score goals. :spider

Newcastle are in for Marlon Harewood.

I think Bellamy will do well at Liverpool.
That club could use someone with
    attitude, skill and ambition.
