Im not so sure. The Sunday Herald ran a convincing story yesterday about how intelligent Fergusons being. At the moment, due to the Italian scandals, there are a glut of strikers available and as the big teams such as Chelsea, Barcelona, Arsenal and now Real Madrid are all sorted for attacking options, with Milan probably taking Crespo back it is a buyers market. Man U are now in prime position to cash in. The boy Torres would be most expensive, but there are others available such as Toni, Trezeguet and Ibrahimovich. When you think about it in terms of world class strkers and world class clubs, at present supply is outstripping demand and lowering the prices.

Newcastle and other clubs may wish to sign the good players, but even if they can match Uniteds spending power, they can’t compete with the draw of playing for Man U.

I believe any of that was in Fergie's head if he actually signs a new striker...

He's nothing like Keane! He's a better passer than the psychotic Irishman but that's all. IMO he's nothing more than average, I can't believe the amount ManUre have paid for him.
I suppose it shouldn't be too much of a surprise, the Mancs rank up their with Chelsea for spending silly money, getting their man at any cost. :garamet:

I dunno about as bad as chelsea, i heard that they could have got shevchenko cheeper, but abramovich wanted a £30m player on the books so they payed £30m. :soma:

 they said the same about lampard when he went to chelsea, yet he's become one of the finest midfielders in the premiership.

I'm still in the dark as to whether we included a future signing percentage when we flogged Carrick for the paltry sum of £2.7 to the Yids.
If so, then we're in for quite a handsome windfall. If we didn't, then we get shafted again like we did when Rio crossed the Pennines

He'll get found out at Manure, big style. He just doesn't have the physically presence that is required for the role he'll be taking at Utd if they put him in Keane's place.

Think Spuds have come out of this one smiling IMO.

And Spider or any other barcodes can fuck right off if they think they're getting their grubby little pikey mitts on Ashton or Harewood! :mob:

everybody loses it someday, fergies buys the last few season haven't always been the best - for every heinze theres been a veron and a miller. not to mention taibi...

he doesn't seem to have the same touch as wenger when it comes to finding gems, and his mind games don't really effect mourinho that much - this season united might fall behind liverpool if they're not careful.

Well, you can't complain too much, over the past few years the Hammers have made an absolute fortune by selling players they paid nothing for!
Very good business by the West Ham money men.

Of course I can complain, especially when over £5 mill was spent on Rigobert fucking Song and Black Uncle Fester Camara--with a nice bunce going to their agent, Mr Mark Redknapp :soholy:

Just because the Mickeys have teh resources to spunk money on cheap tat (or expensive tat) some clubs have to survive with a tight cunt like Brown at the helm, and the only way to do that is to blood your own. If you're in a position where you have to sell, then you at least want an acceptable amount, not £2.7 for a player that sells 2 seasons later for £18mill.

A jar of jellied eels and all the paella the fat cunt can eat, is too much for him.

More fool Barca if the buy him.

Lampard is overrated and would never get into the Barca team, hence he'll stay at Chelsea where he can continue his speciality of scoring loads of deflected goals from distance.

And leave Titi alone, IIRC he didn't cost West Ham much anyway! Thanks for taking Song off our hands though! :D (although I'm certain he didn't cost £5M)

The mickeys priced the pair up for £550k. Bagpuss however, paid £5.5 million for them :wtf:

You did see the rather coincidental name of their agent in my other post didn't you? :jayzus:

He could teach the Rolling Stones a thing or two about tax evasion and ways to make large sums of money vanish that one :jayzus:

Him and Brown were a match made in Walthamstow dog track.
