See, I believe the action taken against gturner was reasonable. He had been given many, many chances, and he kept ignoring the warnings he was being given by those of us who knew he was pushing the limit. He kept on doing it. So I have no problem with his being banned.

That said, I understand if some of the posters here feel that he shouldn't have been banned, that we went too far, or that we should have cut him slack. I don't agree, but I do understand. They didn't like it, they think we could have done better, but they understand what's done is done.

What we're seeing from apostle, and from dinner, is a grudge. It's a grudge that gets trotted out every so often when they have nothing else to gripe about. It will be a perennial favorite, I think, because it's done, there's no chance of it being reversed any time soon, and so it's like when Alex Jones screams that black people are going to take over the government and murder all the white people. It's never going to happen, but it's a whole lot of fun to throw out there if you want to start something, and it gets the shit ball rolling downhill again, and that brings entertainment.

So that's probably why.

As I have said, I am just responding to a thread someone else created and my agreement with the thread starter is based upon a desire to see a past wrong righted. That the original abusers are now off of staff makes it look like a more promising time to right past wrongs. Though most of these "totally not on staff" folks still have mid privileges and get to post in the mids only forum where they taint any discussion of correcting their past mistakes.

Also, where do you get your claim that GTurner "has said he will be even worse if let back in"?

As for John's idiotic claim that the desire to right a past wrong is just a "grudge"... Everyone is being respectful in their advocacy, it is all in one thread which mods have directed people to post in, and no one is running around derailing other topics. It is a valid red room thread where posters are supposed to be able to freely exchange views. The reason guilty people like John keep trying to slander and malign people on the other side is because John knows he has no real defense, that the banning was unjustified from the beginning, and so now he is forced into sweeping generalizations and shit talking.

I don't think his "arguments" are good ones as they are mostly just untruthes and name calling but that is my view.

Think what you like, but I don't feel guilty about any of it, because I did nothing wrong, and I still believe the right decision was made, and I stand by it even now. It's kind of funny. You have no idea how many times I've advocated on your behalf, or on the behalf of posters here who would love to see me punished for my perceived sin. You know nothing of the little enhancements made to the software to make it easier for you to post without incident. Not because I was asked, but because I wanted everything running as smoothly as possible so everyone could enjoy it.

If there's anything that's really galling, though, it's that I was one of the people who advocated keeping the board running, because it was literal minutes away from being a ghost on a server. The behavior on display by some of the posters was inexcusable. Admins were doxxed (I had Facebook information tossed around in one of the rooms, I can't remember which one), people over the Thanksgiving holiday at that time were absurdly petty and cruel. So when the call for shutting the whole thing down was made, maybe I should have said "yeah, go ahead and shut that bastard down," because if what I saw is truly what you want, what Wordforge is going to become, it deserves to die, because it is diseased and beyond help.

Fortunately, I had a little faith left in the community, as did @Anna, and a few others. So yeah, fuck off with your bullshit. Whine and cry as much as you want about gturner. Why should anyone pay any attention to what you want anymore? We've seen how you treat those who only want to make a good experience for everyone here.

I appreciate your past advocacy and hope you did so because it was both factually true and because it was the right thing to do. It wpuld be a shame if you stopped doing the right thing or decided to ignore facts based upon someone advocating the rectification of an appaling abuse of power against a poster who had not actually broken any site rules.

I guess, as Winston Churchill once said, these are the times in which we see true character though and if participants can put aside their own egos to strive for the common good. I, for one, believe making a small gesture to right a past wrong is the morally right thing to do.

I still think it likely he would not accept but do believe the positive gesture should be made none the less. That some think even making such a modest gesture towards reconciliation is such an unthinkable thing... Well, that speaks volumes about their character.

First of all, regarding the reason I don't post. It has nothing to do with previous plans to leave (most of which don't even exist and were invented by others). I stopped posting here for one reason only. Your bigotry and racism (and before you even cry "Islam isn't a race" it has been proven many times that you have gone beyond just the religion of Islam). Contrary to more fake BS spread by people like @Faceman it's not because I feared getting fired. I work for myself and provide services to law firms on a consultancy basis. I can't get fired. But, as many here know from the past, my client base is diverse and international and includes many of the kinds of people you have been bigoted towards or racially abused. I felt that the more I continued to post here the more I was associated with unsavoury content and therefore the more risk that such an association would one day get back to one of my clients or the law firms I work with. This isn't just some sort of arrogance based on my professional reputation. I also have a responsibility to not discriminate and so I did not feel it was conducive to me being seen to be operating in the interests of equality and diversity to be continually associated with racist scum like you. I took a stand on principle and I stick buy it (so, no, this is not some grand return). Contrary to another falsehood peddled I do not stay away because you aren't banned. I stay away because you are a constant racist bigot (albeit I do believe there is an argument that if gtardo gets banned for lies than racism is at least equal to or a more severe form of trolling). I am anti religion myself and by default against Islam. If you are just against Islam why aren’t you on the same page as me? If you can accept that not every Muslim is an “animal” that is out to get you, then why can’t you focus on criticising the religion and not every person who follows it? That’s all it would take. There is a limit. There has to be and always is. Maybe here stretching that limit time and again causes it to break at a lower level and you don't come back because you weakened your own terms of being here.
