We don’t claim to be exercising adequate behavior and control of a firearm. Someone breaks into our house. It is very scary. We quake with fear as we fire. We miss a lot. Plus you’re probably high when we’re shooting you, so it takes more shots. Our fear leads to poor aiming. Thus we need more bullets. Your drug habit makes you a bullet sponge. Thus you need more bullets. It’s simple.
Oh my, he has read about gunfights? Now if you have actually had some experience in an actual combat situation excuse my laughter. He'll, even if you have had someone pull a gun on you in a truly threatening manner, please excuse my laughter. Reading is good after you have seen the effects of adrenaline and understand how to keep your head calm. Now I have watched people in a game when the paintballs start flying. This is not real bullets, and there is no actual life or death scenario. Still, the excitement and fear effects people. It is why I call newbies squids. All that target practice and all of that range time is not worth shit when you are in the shit. All those extra rounds you want, are all worthless if you cannot hit shit because you are freaked out. Actually, they are worse than worthless. They are dangerous to everyone else around you aside from your target. If you have never been in a life or death situation and need to react right away your best chance of survival is get the fuck out of there. You are going to get your gun caught on things, drop it, or jam it up. If you are dealing with a person who has been in some bad situations and knows how they react, and they have a gun, you are dead. Experience is worth so much in a real combat situation, and if none of your books have told you that then your book reading is worthless. He said he read a book on combat. At lest I could take oldfella or another person who was in the military or police somewhat seriously. most of them are still off to an extent, but if all you have done is read some books and some target practice run away. All you are going to do is let the killers know where you are, and possibly shoot your friends or innocent people.
I can agree with most of that. You won't hit a thing, and you will be suffering from the effects of fear and adrenaline. However, a thousand round magazine isn't going to help you hit anything but what is not the target. All that ammo is going to weigh you down when your flight reflex is going to be your best bet.
They don't know shit. It is not you. It is the fantasy gun brigade who has learned how to work their gun from TV movies, books, and the target range who thinks two extra shots in a clip is going to make a difference. If your gunfight is getting to the point where you have shot ten and are not by decent cover to reload, then you suck. It may be the other person sucks as much as you do at that point. The reason for more than 10 shots would be supresion fire. That is a war tactic. If you are in a situation where that is an issue here in the states no carry level aside from always walking around with loaded clips and an assault rifle is going to give you any readiness.
I have been... did a year and a half once, and a couple of shorter stints. Assaults where both participants were charged, I just happened to be the one still standing. in the case of my brief career as a burglar? That was over 30 years ago. Now, with the unlicensed bar/drug den? The cops here know who we are running it and look the other way because they know who is running it. they've been in twice over the last four years, taken a look around and left.
You moron! You’ve had anatomical responses explained to you an infinite number of times. I’m an expert marksman. Nearly person in the world will lose their fine motor skills in a combat scenario. It is simple biology.
spaceturkey committed burglaries in a country where the odds of a home owner being armed are much less than in the US. Burglars in my neighborhood better be very lucky or very smart because it skews heavily toward military/law enforcement residents who probably will not offer you milk & cookies if you unlawfully enter their homes. And Georgia being a "fuck criminals" state pretty much gives residents the go-ahead to kill burglars. Now that I think about it I've been a victim of robbery of some type in every place I've ever lived except Georgia. My son was robbed twice in New Jersey and he only lived there for a few months!
Oh, come on, I can beat that record! Here goes: The whole bunch of you are ignorant. On everything. But that's not really a problem. Everyone is useful for something. You people just happen to be useful for showing how smart the rest of us are in contrast to you. And don't accuse me of being arrogant. I am the very model of humility. The proof is that I accept to discuss even with my social and intellectual inferiors, like the rest of you who post here at Wordforge! There, did I break the record?
You're close to retirement, Forbin. I hope you plan to leave the wastelands of New Jersey as soon as possible after that.
Some study aids for those who think reading can be edumacational: https://americanhandgunner.com/category/the-ayoob-files/
No. You’ve been gone so long you haven’t seen Nova’s posts. Well chain of posts with each post being book length.
^ He didn't say "longest", he just said "pompous, ignorant and useless". You don't have the right to add new criteria to the competition once I've already done my entry!
if your house is paid for (or close to it) moving wouldn't make much sense. Besides what if you moved to Georgia (for example) and it went "blue" and gun laws do a 180 degree shift! You'd be screwed and everyone would blame you for jinxing it!
still that car will be paid of a lot faster than a house. My house will be paid off in about 16 years. My wife wants to move when I retire in about 8 years so I will rent it out to pay the mortgage for 8 years - we will be like the Ropers having tenants!
We got a 3-year loan and we're going to try to pay it off in one. Niether one of us wants to stay at our jobs a minute longer than we need to.
If you are not home your gun is completely worthless. It is actually something a burglar might steal. For home protection they suck because of that compared to other methods.
