I do have to give it to Tucker Carlson for being way more even-keeled than I think most people would when Gaetz not only is generally weird but tries to play the "you were falsely accused of sex crimes too, so you now how I feel" card and the "we were bros having dinner that one time" card.

I am just wondering if tucker made up a lie about him being accused of assault 20 years ago by a mentally ill woman he never met to cover for the fact gaetz was obviously referring to something that happened about a year ago, or he actually has two instances of sexual assault allegations. He came up with that 20 years ago thing pretty quickly.

Of course, his district is so GQP that he could fuck an underage girl on live TV and they'd still re-elect him.

Even keeled? I think Tucker got caught off guard with the dinner comment and didn't know what to do so his usual sneering, petty and contemptible attitude dropped for a second

FL District 1 has always been solid Red. Or at least as long as I can remember. Joe Scarborough used to win by 30 points.

It says a lot about how much the Republican Party has moved that Joe Scarborough was considered hard conservative back in the day.

What a step down to Gaetz.

This whole extortion conspiracy seems a bit bogus.....claims he has recordings, is working with the FBI, etc but literally nothing that proves this has dropped

Were I accused of having sex with a minor I would be stumbling over myself to get evidence that it's an extortion plot out there......just sayin'

Or maybe he just knows his base won't care at all about this and is being all nonchalant about the whole thing, who knows

In one interview where he spun his batshit crazy conspiracy theory, he actually said his father was wearing a wire for the FBI. If true, I'm almost certain that revelation would result in obstruction or related charges. You don't fucking tell people someone's wearing a wire during a federal investigation.

So yeah, Gaetz is full of shit.

You knew he was full of it in the Tucker interview when he denied the claim that he bought a plane ticket and hotel room for the 17 year old to fly out and see him and his defense was: I HAVE NEVER FLOWN WITH A SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD AND I HAVE THE TRAVEL RECORDS TO PROVE IT!

Uhhh. Very specific denial there dude and totally not the issue.

Compared to how I think most people would have reacted when an alleged jailbait seeker was like, "you know bitches be crazy" and "remember that time when we were hanging out" yeah, I will give him credit for not blowing a gasket.

I tend to think that it would not be a viable obstruction charge. To try to make it stick, you would prove beyond a reasonable doubt not only that the revelation obstructed justice but also was meant to.

I don't think saying someone was wearing a wire after the fact would likely obstruct justice. But also, if you take Gaetz at face value, he was not trying to help the person who was supposedly extorting his family get away with it. He was saying that the NYT had blown the operation already by its reporting and that the FBI might as well reveal the recording.

Yes, sadly you need to prove specific intent, and in Gaetz's case his lawyer could easily point to mountains of evidence that his client just spews whatever is on his so-called mind.

I'm equally sure Trump's lawyers are eventually (once it's the only argument left) planning a "my client has no filter" defence.

Latest report - they are investigating if Gaetz used campaign finances to pay for travel that violates the Mann act - ie traveling with an underage girl with the intention of having sex with her across state lines.

Have these twats never watched American Beauty?! I mean, I'm 46 and my balls could not be bluer if Eddie Murphy was doing his 80s stand-up act on them. But even if I might remember the 16-17 year old sylphs I went to school with and wish I'd actually taken a chance, it would be fucking weird and wrong. I mean even in a Quantum Leap "I'm back in 17 year old Matt's body" scenario. It's still 46 year old me fucking a 17 year old girl.

That shit's for the villains in Steven Seagal movies. Or Steven Seagal in real life.

When I grew up there it was represented by Bob "The He-Coon" Sikes. If you've ever wondered why there are so many bases in the Panhandle, Sikes deserves most of the credit (not to mention that it was sparsely populated enough to accomodate bombing ranges and trainee pilots who were prone to crashing). When Sikes retired he was replaced by another old Blue Dog, a TV host turned politician named Earl Hutto who was also very adept at keeping the pork flowing in that direction. Scarborough was the first Republican ever to represent that district (unless there was one in the reconstruction era). Of course, Scarborough has own skeletons in the closet, but never mind...:D

Yeah. 17 is seriously . Like the fuck do y’all even talk about?

December a year and a handful of months ago I ended up fucking a 22yo and even that was a bit weird (at first, I uh, got over it...). Even though it was BDSM Night (meaning no drugs or alcohol allowed) at our sex club I still asked twice if she was sure (once when she suggested going to the back rooms and then once again once we were back there getting undressed). And honestly if she hadn’t been a porn star I probably wouldn’t have done it. Not that there is anything wrong with being a porn star! Just saying that it indicates a healthy understanding of casual sex so I didn’t have to worry I was messing with her head or anything.

LOL, when I was 23, a 45 year old guy at my workplace was fucking a 22-year old. He offered me money if I'd take her off his hands, because "apart from sex, we've got fuck all in common".

She was fucking crazy, though, or I might have considered it.
