For the love of Christmas, why?

What's the ONE thing above all others that makes the 1911 the best combat handgun ever?

The sweet single action trigger, that's what!

Why on earth would somebody go and do a thing like that?

Para's been selling them for over a decade. They call it an LDA (Light Double Action).

It's for people that are either scared to carry cocked and locked or aren't allowed to do so by policy (A lot of police officers can get around the bans on 1911's by carrying a Para LDA).

Wouldn't your money be better spent on some sort of investment? Maybe a house or a ring for your girlfriend? I mean, how many guns do you need?

I do invest and save. :)

I enjoy guns, and I pay cash for everything, in addition to having savings and investments rates that exceed 20% of my annual income.

Presently, in the Marines, the last day of rifle qual is, what I affectionately refer to as "Zombie Prac-App".

You learn all about making the killing shot to the brain-pan.

After all, the Bad Guy may be wearing armor. Or be a zombie. So you need to finish them off with a shot to the brain pan.

And not just the head--the part of the head that the brain sits in. You shoot someone through the sinuses, they ain't necessarily goin' down. (Exspecially if they are a zombie.)

So the smart thing to do is to shoot them in the pelvis. Most of the time the pelvis isn't armored. And 5.56 rounds looove that nice, thin, curved pelvic bone. Shatter it. Make fucking Swiss cheese of everything down there. Hit at least one femoral artery. It's all good.

Worst case scenario, they go down. Then you can walk up at your leisure and shoot them in the head.

Good one...too bad I don;t live in the dark ages. My wife actually has her own job and is able to buy her own car!! Imagine that.

Go play with your poodle sally boy.

You're a lawyer and you can't afford to buy your wife a car? How... sad, or dishonest. Take your pick.

That fact that you don't understand the point of my wife buying her own car is what's sad. That and the fact that you have a poodle.

Poodle's rock dude. The fact that you don't understand why a husband buying his wife a car is a good thing is sad too. Leave this thread - it's about a subject you have no understanding of anyways. Firearms.

I understand them fine...have a couple myself. Your near sexual obsession with them is what I don't understand. I'd never spend extra money on ANOTHER gun.

You're not even a cop, what do you need the extra guns for???

If you are so quickly willing to point it out to Jenee, then I'm sure you care to warn Alpha and Apostle as well.
