Yes one handgun and one shotgun. That doesn't mean I need more than that.

Well personally, I've got got six handguns alone. Two that I carry (not at the same time), two target pistols, a 2nd Gen SSA and my Grandad's 1911 that he carried in WWII.

True that. I've noticed that my carry 1911's not having a front sight is good for one thing. It doesn't hurt as bad when I pull it out of my ass.

So ... do you decide which gun to carry by the color of your shoes?

    No. :(

Most of my guns are military bolt action weapons. I only have one carry worthy weapon right now. :(

    That should change soon. :)

It will probably be another "black" gun though. :(

A different gun for casual wear vs formal wear?

    The wedding was
    a formal one.
    Her daddy had
    a white shotgun.

    No, winter vs. summer wear.

"He wore shorts and a t in summer.
In winter he wore a jacket.
    Hide big gun, hide"

For some reason, I have a terrible itch for a repro Sharps model 1875 chambered in .45-70.

My grandad had a couple of versions of the real deal, but donated them, along with most of his collection, to the NRA before he died.

Last night I shot a Kimber with a 4" Barrell - just a Range USA rental, on a lower end Kimber model.

FYI shoes, they have several new NICE guns on consignment. :)

Anyways, I liked the Kimber and am going to keep making offers until the right person's 1911 comes along.

I'm going to the toy store Monday. Unless someone snaps it up, they have a used one for $800. If they'll give me $500 for my Glock 21SF, I'll bring it home.

Well, I made a guy a ridiculously low offer on a Kimber with a tac magwell and a few other features. Too busy to say what else, and to be honest haven't figured it fully out.

Anyways, I know it retails with all options on it for about $1100. Offerd six, he hit back with $650, I buy it tonight WITH, at that price, an in the waist galco holster.

    John Moses Browning be praised!

Without model, that doesn't tell us much. I can buy brand new Custom II's for $650 all day long. :clyde:

Ahhh...yeah. Aluminum frame. They don't hold up in value. Make sure the feed ramp isn't gouged up and beat up. They're finding out that most normal 1911 magazines are destroying aluminum framed feed ramps.

If I were you, I wouldn't put any magazine in that gun that doesn't have a plastic follower.

Nice lookin' Kimber. Post a range report when you get a chance. I'm curious how the aluminum frame plus lighter weight from the short barrel affect the recoil on that thing. Oh, and it sounds like you got a decent deal on it.

I field stripped the Kimber last night. Still haven't fired it. Upon reassembly, I promptly scratched the slide slightly. I feel stupid.

Dont. At least you got it out of the way and now dont have to worry about not scratching it.

Well, I bought it used. Whoever owned it previously took it in and out of the holster a lot. :P There was bluing wear, but no scratches.

This thing sure feels nice on my hip. I can hardly wait till my in the waistband holster arrives.

Well thanks for getting the thread back on topic.

It was actually fairly interesting until the trolls decided to troll it up.

Leave that crap to the Red Room.
