Apparently the dog is now UL Approved. (That's a label from a roll of packing tape Mary was using. It apparently leapt up and grabbed Nikki's ankle as she Walked past).
Having my house decorated. And as I've just got around to putting some pictures and mirrors up I though I'd take some pics. Its nice having an out of work professional artist as your painter and decorator This is the Living room and Dining room (or front and back room as I call them), and the guest room that I'm ding up for daughter to come and stay in.
At Mom's for the weekend, I found this 50-year-old picture of Mom, my sister, me and Dad. We noticed immediately that Mom still decorates exactly the same way, so I thought it'd be cool to reenact it. My sister's son is sitting in for Dad. The painting and the lamp on the left are the same. The couch and the locations are different. The sconces are different, but Dad made both sets. EDIT: Dad painted the painting too! It's his one and only attempt at an oil.
Some more gems from the fambly photo trunk. My grandmother, my father, and I all graduated 8th grade from the same school, which was the very first school in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Gram was from the very first class in 1909, before the town was incorporated and it was referred to as "The Campgaw area" (after the Lenape Indian chief Gaw, whose camp was there). Dad gradjee-ated in 1936, and myself in 1971. Gram is second from the right in the '09 pic, and Dad is in the back row under the 6 in his. My class didn't take a group shot .
