Old man always told me believe nothing you read and only half of what you see and I suspect it's shit like this that he was talking about. Seems the media douchbags can't be trusted at all.
We are all Trayvon? I guess I'm not living up to my end of the bargain. I was never a jewel thief, didn't smoke weed, and though uncoordinated I could still sprint a block in under four minutes. I am but a pale (no pun intended) imitation.
I can't wrap my mind around the idea of doing what the NBC people did and, now, what ABC has done. It's one thing to edit an interview to make it shorter, but you never change the context or meaning when you do it. Unreal.
Impossible. It's just youth "acting a fool." BTW another incident happened last week where three young "youths" attacked some guy and stole something from him (a scooter I think) and broke his eye socket and gave him a few wounds requiring stitches.
Yeah, it's all TM's fault in their minds. He attacked Zim (although there's no direct evidence of this beyond Zim's own self-serving account), or TM should have run home (even though the act of running away only made him look more suspicious in Zim's already paranoid mind), or TM should have called the police himself (and told them what exactly? A strange man was following him in his truck and creepily staring at him? A ludicrous suggestion on it's face). Or maybe their thinking is that TM should have just passively stood there and allowed himself to be interrogated by this wanna-be cop, as if Zim had any conceivable right to try to detain him, or question him, or demand answers as to why he was there and what he was doing. The ONLY response Zim deserved is what he got - a broken nose. And I wonder, if TM had told Zim to fuck off and told him that he wasn't going to answer any of his fucking questions and was walking away, would Zim have been justified, in the minds of Zim's apologists, drawing his loaded weapon and detaining TM at gunpoint until the cops arrived?
TM could have been Leatherface & Jigsaw combined, he could have been a regular user of marijuana or purple drank or whatever, and none of it will be relevant or admissible. All that would matter is what Zim knew of TM that night - that he was black and wearing a hoodie.
The last sentence - it depends on Florida laws. Here in Georgia a guy at my work saw someone burglarizing his neighbor. He pulled his gun and told the guy not to move or he would kill him, and he meant it. Then he called the cops and they arrested the thief. In Georgia that would be a no-brainer, he wouldn't be charged if he did kill him in this situation, and nobody would have pity on the thief. It's an understanding we have between property owners and thieves, and it serves us well. Damn Flashlight - no matter what basic facts and logic is presented as to how Trayvon could have shared the burden of staying alive, you shoot it down (no pun intended). You can do flips and twists better than a 12 year old Chinese gymnast. If you ever get a jury notice, please tear it up or somehow find a way to get out of serving on the jury. What part of "State Of Florida Versus" don't you understand? You know, better ten guilty men go free rather than one innocent man get condemned and all that? The case isn't Flashlight versus George Zimmerman.
False imprisonment, maybe. A citizen can effect a citizen's arrest, but you better damned well be in the right if you do it or you're up shit creek without a paddle.
An analysis of the whole mess by renowned shooting analyst Masaad Ayoob: http://americanhandgunner.com/lessons-from-the-zimmerman-case/ Been waiting for the guru to check in on the matter.
True dat! If you dial the wrong number...tough shit. That's your one call. You get an answering machine....tough shit. That's your one call. You have a learning disability and can't remember numbers too well, so you have them written down in your wallet? tough shit, they took your wallet.
This thread doesn't deserve 6000. Maybe that thunder thigh business. Speaking of which, did we lose dickface in the move?
I've been waiting for the final summary and analysis by one of the most professional, knowledgeable, experienced writers I know to hit print, and it just did.
While he is certainly pro-gun, he's also well known as a fair and thorough analyst of shooting cases. He's spent decades living the life as a cop, teaching, advising, and acting as an expert witness in hundreds of shooting cases. He knows more on the subject of firearms and firearms law then you and me.
How did we miss the four-year anniversary of George Zimmerman's murder of Trayvon Martin? RIP Trayvon. February 5, 1995 - February 26, 2012 "He died for Skittles."
