How far does your field of influence go?
    The distance of a bullet?
The distance your taxes go to Washington?
The distance the pollution from your exhaust pipe goes?
The distance you can scale a chicken nugget across a parking lot?

Not being allowed to run around and stab everybody is power over free will.
Everything after that's been a negotiation.
    Welcome to basic fucking existence.

I begin to get the sense that the essence of libertarianism is being like the Asian woman driver stereotype in Family Guy "how much turn signal I use? None? Okay, here I go, good luck everybody else!" *massive accidents pile up*
    That's it, isn't it?
"I do what I want, and fuck the rest of you".
That's certainly the anti-vax movement all over.

    This right here.

I got called a bigot plenty of times on LiveJournal for my unintentional ignorance about issues the queer community faced and thinking some were making a big deal over some minor issue. I had a whinge about it in my blog but I otherwise had no personal guilt and it didn't make me think that gays didn't deserve rights because of it.

Methinks Albert doth protests too much.

Methinks there's a bunch of "progressives" here who are absolutely outraged at the idea of someone who believes in personal responsibility, and rejects the "you should feel bad because we think you should" school of thought.

The point, I think, is that you don't have to feel bad in order to want to fix things that were done in the past. You just have to recognize that they were wrong.

I'm not outraged that you hold that belief.
I'm outraged that you don't, because I think you and Al are fucking liars, and frauds.

Actually, in their own ill-informed and twisted way, personal responsibility is the basis of the anti-vax argument.

I'm obviously exaggerating slightly for effect, but you're the one citing "PC authoritarianism" as an all-purpose boogeyman without elaborating.

Where's the actual authoritarianism? Where are the people that were thrown in prison for not respecting their baristas pronouns? Who was executed for insisting that the Confederacy treated slaves really well? When were large fines handed out to people that didn't look guilty enough over things their grandparents did?

Or when you say "PC authoritarianism" are you talking about rants from cranky teenagers on Twitter or Tumblr that are only seen by a handful of their followers, or college girls with nose rings that put "BLM ACAB" in their Tinder profiles?

Because one is reasonable to try to "correct," and the other is a paper tiger you built yourself.

If you're talking about Trump himself, then you're right of course. The only thing he has ever cared about is self-aggrandizement. That's how he can boast of his "superior genes" while declaring himself "the least racist person on the planet."

As for political supporters of Trumpism, I think there are a multitude of factors, racism certainly among them. But it's a different sort of racism than that which drove past political movements. Instead of seeking to uphold and enforce a racist status quo, Trumpism is marked by deep alienation from a society increasingly less tolerant of racism.

Have you ever seen a pencil sharpener? His dick could waggle around that opening for hours without getting near them blades. What you really need to take that little nubby thing off is a cheese grater or perhaps one of those eggs that makes shredded foot cheese.
