You know, if everyone involved wanted to make this look like a stereotypical racist, southern, hate killing and cover up, I don't think they could have done a better job.
As someone put it, "The reason the shooters were arrested wasn't because the police saw the video. It was because we saw the video."
yes, the killers and their enablers are likely a bunch of racist fucks. And the entire state of Georgia is pissed off because the killers do not represent the vast majority of Georgian residents. Personally I'm taking race off the table and taking the "hate crime" out for now at least. I'm taking the murder at face value - a group of armed men unnecessarily confronted an unarmed man , and the man was fighting for his life and was shot dead. Now once the trial begins if it turns out that racism was a factor versus just idiocy, factor that in. I just hope no corners are cut, the prosecution doesn't fuck it up, and justice is served. Plea deals will be cut once more involved people are implicated, so not everyone will get the punishment deserved, but that's the cost of nailing the people who pulled the trigger or were complicit in the actual boots-on-the-0ground killing that day.
okay now the killers are truly and rightly fucked. The GBI doesn't play - unlike the FBI they haven't been in any questionable judgement & political shady dealings to my knowledge. The GBI - the governor - 99 percent of Georgia - versus two shit-stains and their enablers? Things are going to get interesting!
I hate OF, he hates me; we're both from GA. It's pretty low key most of the time but every now and then we flare up. Good thing neither of us exercise our 2nd rights.
it would never ever happen from my end - my trigger discipline and weapon safety record are top notch on or off the job. Emotions and gun handling should not mix - much like Rob Schneider and the best actor Academy award.
Do you really think that the man's color didn't have anything to do with it? Do you really think that they would have the same attitude toward seeing a white man running through the neighborhood, and seeing a black man running through the neighborhood? Sure, it's possible. I don't know them. But I sure wouldn't be ready, at this point, to rule it out.
oh it's very possible - it's very likely - but that still hasn't been proven yet. Two armed men chasing down somebody who resembles a burglary suspect and physically confronting him, resulting in his death has been proven, up to a point. In this case since the burglary suspect - whose image captured on security cameras depicts a black male - was also a black male, chasing a white male wouldn't make much sense would it? Context matters here. The killers' motivations will most like be explored during their trial.
which I normally don't agree with, but in this case whatever gets these guys charged, arrested and tried in a court of law is fine by me.
Whilst there's nothing wrong with it, it seems unfair to accuse them all of being large, hairy homosexual men.
kind of like why I like ice fishing with fat people. The ice might seem thick enough, but I'd rather be 100 percent sure it's safe.
"America culture" covers a lot of ground. It would be cherry picking to say that carrying a gun while running is a common practice. I literally don't know anyone who does that even if they live in a shitty high crime neighborhood.
Call me weird, (naive...whatever) but I think I could get along with both of you in real life...maybe not at the same time though.
I'm sure we'd get along great if you bend a knee and kiss my ring first, and address me by my proper title. Oh and sign a nondisclosure statement and prenup - pretty standard stuff really.
