I see that in stores, but do they make a diet cream soda? Krogers and Publix has some brand of diet cream soda that uses stevia - it's horrid!

Anyway, yes oatmeal! It has a low glycemic index - meaning oatmeal releases it's energy at a slow steady pace keeping you full longer and your blood sugar stable. Bottom line less calories consumed from the actual oatmeal, and less calories consumed when you aren't so hungry and apt to eat again sooner than you should. It's a "sticks to your ribs" kind of food as they used to say when I was a kid.

There is a meme going around (which I can’t quickly find) that says something like:

The question I always have in these kind of situations is how did somebody "just happen" to be there to take the video?

No telling whether the video-taker is involved in this particular case, but cell phones are ubiquitous. Just about everybody has a camera with them at all times.

Notice how the officer maintains her cool until backup arrives. The sound of sirens must have been music to her ears.

Pretty sure if this had happened south of the border, things would have been different...

I grew upo in NY. I learned what nigger meant in elementary school when the kids played a game called nigger pile. I was so happy I was not the kid that got piled on that day I went home and told my mom all about it and then got punished for using that word. I did not even have a clue what it meant at the time, but after that I recognized it's use when we went to the italian relatives for a house party. I always thought that was stupid since my great grandfather was so proud to talk about coming in from ellis island and how he had to work hard against all the people who thought he was shit for being a FOB which they called WOP at the time.

Let me put this in perspective. Let us say it was your son jogging down the street looking at a foundation and they thought he was doing burglary stuff. Do you really think they would have rode after him with shotguns to confront him? Do you even think they would have batted an eye at him as a suspect being white and jogging? We all know if he was white and jogging in their neighborhood and they did not know who he was they would have waved at him and thought he was just a neighbor they did not know and been pleasant to him because that what southerners do.

I am white and walking in their neighborhood in the south, and all people are goiong to say is hello, how is your day. There is no question their actions were racist as hell.

the comments section asks questions like that too. The guy recording the video could have been documenting the attempted "citizens arrest" but it obviously did not go as planned. If releasing the video was part of a preempted CYA plea bargain because he knew the circle was closing and by cooperating fully he may not be charged as an accomplice. I think that's fair (every plea bargain is a compromise) if it means that now there is slam-dunk video evidence - and perhaps eyewitness testimony that could further strengthen the prosecution's case. Who knows, maybe only the actual trigger man may get hammered before the dust settles.

IMHO transparency going forward is of the utmost importance. I don't see a lot of "we can't discuss the details of the case because the investigation is still ongoing" thanks to that video. You know what happened and who did it, now lets find out the motivations and any mitigating circumstances. Cut some deals if that will facilitate getting the shooter life in prison or the death penalty. But at the shooter's age the death penalty will be life in prison because of the lengthy appeals process.

If my white son resembled a white guy who was seen burglarizing local homes then yeah, whomever thinks he might indeed be the suspect would confront him. If (big if) these clowns were actually attempting a citizens's arrest that is. That could have been a cover story. The guy filming it might know the truth! In the comments section it claims that there is no record of a guy resembling the victim burglarizing in the area.

But most likely it was racially motivated - we'll know more soon hopefully.

Has already been killed by GoFundMe. IIRC, there's a neo-Nazi site out there that acts like GoFundMe for people of such ilk. It may have been effectively killed by the credit card companies refusing to do business with it, though.
