First off I doubt the material was bleach. The smell of bleach is highly identifiable and if he was wounded even a dilute bleach mixture would have stung and been a problem. There would have been evidence on his clothing of bleach spots, and it would have been easily identified as bleach and not any maybe.

Skin bleaching compounds are often hydrogen peroxide based and maybe it was a mixture like that which would have been more of a tropical antiseptic rather than bleach you find in a Clorox bottle.

On top of that anyone who has gotten wet in below freezing temps knows that water on clothing and the skin does not freeze at it's freezing point because of body heat. water on your hair might freeze at the tips, but your scalp would not be frozen. If you are more active this gets more heat from your vote to the surface that would keep water more liquid. You know, things like being in a physical altercation and trying to get to safety or the hospital as fast as possible.

It actually happens rarely when compared to real attacks. Of course you are a racist asshole who wants to claim the victim is evil because they are black and homosexual.

Also like to point out that his initial interview with police Smollett never said anything about MAGA. The two attackers were not wearing MAGA hats according to Smollet. They said, "MAGA country."

That part of the story only took place in follow up interviews.

Also want to point out that area of Chicago is covered in surveillance cameras. The police have yet to find footage of anyone other than Smollet and those two people who left the area a half hour earlier.

Also Smollet reported that both attackers recognized him. Are we to really believe that two random people at 2 in the morning in below freezing Chicago just happened across this guy, recognized him, and decided to attack him with their noose and bleach?


Rafer Weigel, an Emmy award winning journalist in Chicago, has reported that his police sources say they believe it was probably a hoax. He deleted that tweet though.

There is a high probability this is a hoax like the many other hoaxes we've seen over the last few years.
