Speaking of which, I saw a non-WF example of it in action last night. :)

That's not very cool. If people want this thread to go away, not posting in it is the best choice. All of this pasta-crap is just spam, condoned spam in the Help Desk.

    Carry on. :)

That might work, if you are able to get a good flare up to char the outside. I like a crisp eighth of an inch, with a cool red interior. I achieve this by pouring some olive oil on the steak once it's on the grill. The oil drips onto the coals, and voila, as they say.

Well at least the lastest drama has turned into something positive. I cooked up a great BBQ at the parent's place yesterday. Other half was most impressed with my greek kebabs :techman:

And I'd like to remind you that this is, in fact, still the Help Desk, so chill.

In fact, since this seems to have run its course now . . .

    Actually no.

All of the bad for you germys and such are on the outside of a steak the inside is perfectly clean, and fine to eat rare. If you were to grind that steak up into hamburger then you would need to cook it longer, because you just took the germys and so on, on the outside and put them inside. So a steak rare is :techman: a hamburger rare is :nono:

Beef is not like pork. Pork you need to make sure is cooked all the was through just as with chicken. I can't remember exactly why there is a difference, but maybe it is because cattle, even in feed lots, don't wallow in there feces.

No, not burned, just more than browned. It's a fine line, but I know the difference. Burnt is something to look for in burnt pork ends, for example.

Here's how it went down. I had Nick pull all of the PMs from members who gave us permission. He did not read them. I wanted to be the only one privy to the information just in case there was something sensitive in the messages.

After reviewing all of the evidence, I'm left with only one option. Storm will be banned for threatening to reveal non-trivial personal information. However, gul will also be banned for making a similar threat in post #112 of this thread.

I decided that if I made an error, it would be on the side of caution and I will work it out, privately, with both of them should they wish to return. I say this because this drama ends right here and right now. Non-trivial real life information is nothing to joke about or kid around about. No one, not even the worst troll amongst us deserves to have what amounts to petty bickering transition from the cyber world to real life.

Storm and Gul both know my e-mail address and I'm eagerly awaiting their messages. Outside of that, this ends right now. Are we clear?

Also, our probe discovered a leak in The Shelter. Someone that betrayed my trust. I'm sure you can understand that I can't just come out and post the PM, but this person has been sidelined and removed from a position of influence. Any disciplinary action will occur after this has calmed down and cooler heads have prevailed.

So Gul was banned for saying that if someone did try to attempt to use personal information on him to harm him at work, he'd respond in kind? That's a bannable offense?

Hmmm... good thing he was wearing that short dress. He must have deserved it.

There may be more bloodshed later...one can hope. :bergman:

But are gul and Storm dead or are the bans temporary, pending sufficient groveling and public flogging?

I just looked at post 112 again.

Gul did phrase it badly, but he had a valid point...revealing personal info around here is a two-edged sword, because some of us have known each other for years...after six or seven years of reading someone's posts, you can figure out a large number of things about them. It's the ultimate weapon of mass destruction and Storm was crossing a big red line in threatening (foolishly) to use it. That's why banning is the only answer for that, because EVERYONE is vulnerable to it.

I guess Gul had it coming, but he was foolish - if you are dealing with Storm, you don't get mad. Ever. You stay cool and parse your words with great care and don't leave an open spot through which someone can nail you.

At least Gul's banning will hopefully have the affect of appeasing Storm's many friends.

In any case, the real winner here is Disgruntled Rosencrosisforger...never in WF history has a trolling dual done so much damage. :wtf: I suggest people remember this the next time someone starts a trolling dual. :jayzus:

If gul wasn't really Disgruntled Wordforger, and if gul wasn't really leaking info, then banning him gives me no satisfaction or appeasement.

EDIT: However, if he was (which I couldn't say), then fuck him.

I continue to find it ironic that *I* was repeatedly bashed with the insult that I'm too "untrustworthy" to be a mod. This whole thing, and the current administration of WF, is a joke.
