I Protest- My Report Post Capability Was Removed Without Notification By the Moderators?

It depends on who to. I bitch to my boss and to coworkers. If I bitched to someone outside of my department and my boss and my boss's boss and my boss's boss's boss was called in, yea, I could come up with documentation. But, if it's just inane back and forth like this ... well, yea, I probably would. But, like I said, I work in statistics. It's what I do. I can't even walk to the bathroom without counting the steps.

Can you answer two serious honest questions John:

Was my reporting of a 10 year old post the triggering event that caused the changes in the use of "Report Post"? Why get so bent out of shape about a one off thing?

Hmm, I wonder who the targets of this rules aren't satisfied with "your word", especially when you can't even provide a summary of the offences.

I think it comes down to this:

The moderators noted my reporting Ed629 for a post from ten years ago that was obviously against the rules.

They thought to himself

"Oh my gosh, he is going to pour through the years of posts on the board and start reporting posts of every time someone has violated board rules over the past 10 years just to get rid of people he doesn't like".

That would be my first thought.

What they thought was "Dayton, Chup and unamed third person complain more than the others and are an annoyance, how do we shut them up?". Your report of the old post was the golden excuse. That's why, to date, the only abuse they cite is that report.

In is fundamentally against the principle of fairness that because one grievance might be bullshit then no other the same person raises can have merit because the person is disliked.
