The rise of the extreme right in European shows that this is certainly something simmering under the surface. Hell, even the Brexit vote showed the simmering prejudice. The choice is either succumbing to it, like @Dinner, or trying to rise above it and fight against the hate from all sides.

There are many questions that need to be asked right now. Should France have left its immigrant community ghetto-ise themselves and seperate from the wider communities? Irrespective of free movement, should continental Europe have open fully borders? Should the likes of Germany have opened themselves up to so much of an intake from Islamic countries when a by product of that will inevitably be letting undercover ISIS types in? But even if you answer yes to all these questions, it still doesn't justify stereotyping and blanket bigotry, and that's why morons like @Dinner and @gturner can't understand why they are dismissed out of hand.

To you they may be fairy tales, but to true Muslims (as defined by Muslims who lop off heads) they are commandments from Allah on how the world must be ordered and how people must be made to submit or die. It doesn't matter if they're being controlled by a microchip in their brains, the problem is what those beliefs compel them to do, which is dig into 1,300 years of historical conquest strategies to come up with ways that will work and allow them to conquer European civilization and turn it into something along the lines of Saudi civilization.

I totally agree! I'm sick of taking my chances backing out of a parking space because I can't see through the tanks parked beside me that block my vision of the third tank zipping along at double the safe speed you should travel in a parking lot. And we already discussed a rear view camera not cutting it because it can't see what's to my 4 and 8 o'clock positions as I back out. The only way would be a camera on a periscope above the height of the biggest pickup trucks. Come to think of it that "truck culture" is a way, way bigger physical threat than guns statistically (in my neck of the woods at least). I should start a FUCK THE TRUCK campaign!

Several hundred thousand. Actually this is quite a useful article on the actual terrorist thread. I believe elsewhere it has been estimated that 1% of the domestic Muslim populations of European countries are deemed as at risk from radicalisation.

"The Muslim population". Of where? Because, for instance, Muslims in the caucuses have widely different views from those of, say, Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, are we talking Shia or Sunni? Wahhabist? Sufi? Alawite? This helps to show the different views and interpretations of Islam depending on where you are in the world.
