I'm switching from a .357 barrel gun to a .45 Glock 36 for my carry piece. I like the Ruger okay but the damn thing is too small for my hands. It's destined to become my daughter's first gun, down the road here.

I can't stand most ruger handguns, personally, that aren't single action hunting weapons. But that's just me. I'll tell you one thing I don't like on a lot of them - spurrless, non-shrouded hammers.

Spurless? Are there that many spurless models? Sounds like a minor option for police models, not standard. As for shrouded, well, there ain't a lot of shrouded-hammer revovlers out there. Doesn't S&W make about the only one? I have an old H&R one that's about 100 years old, but I didn't think they were very common these days.

You guys and your fancy, new fangled wheel guns with their "shrouded hammers". :jayzus:

If my Grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon.

Sweet! I want that model in .44 Mag.
Pretty much guaranteed I won't need a second shot.
But I bet that would kick like a mule.

They make them in .357. That gun in .44 magnum would hurt you.

    Seriously.

Yeah. I can stand that gun in .357. I shoot a lot of .44's when I get the chance. I want to get a .50 S&W for shooting. But there is a reason they add mass to those guns and don't use light metals!

Well for one thing, even if you miss the bad guy, the muzzle blast will throw him a quarter mile and the fireball will burn all his skin off.

Because it'll be heavy, I imagine it'll be hard to conceal, the recoil is gonna make follow-up shots...difficult at best, overpenetration issues, and expensive as hell ammo for starters.

Not concealable (would DRAW attention to you and get you shot in the back of the head), would over penetrate and hurt others, and just is lame. ;0

Fuck Smith & Wesson. Fuck them with Bill Ruger's dick until their collective colons burst like overripe sausages and then they bleed to death and Bill Ruger gets AIDS and dies slowly and painfully.
