Hello all. I know we have some real men here. Some guys with balls that carry guns and keep themselves and their loved ones safe. That's right: Manly men.

All kidding aside, I am curious as to what you carry around for the ultimate test on your firearm - the gun and the ammo.

Right now I pack an XD40 with 180 grain speer gold dots and two backup mags and a Blackhawk Sentinal PL-1 Flashlight.

    I carry either a Sig P-226, Sig P-225, or if warranted, a MAC-11.

I carry nothing but my own two mitts and a couple of multi-tools.

With my luck, I'd get a valuable shootin' iron stolen from my vehicle or something.

On the plus side, I don't live in a country run by backwards Muslim savages (yet), so I can be reasonably confident that nobody can legally deprive me of my hands. I also can't forget to maintain them or bring them with me.

What's this about leaving it in the vehicle? Personally, if a business bans guns I don't patronize them. I hate to go into a building marked as a free fire zone for criminals.

My employer posted a big sign explicitly prohibiting all weapons. I enjoy eating, sleeping indoors, and fueling my vehicle.

I might not agree with the policy, but it is absolutely their right to set it, and I would consider it uncivilized and grossly disrespectful to violate it. If I absolutely cannot accept it, my recourse is to find a new job.

General Motors is strictly a weapons-free zone (tell that to the numerous people shot inside), and so any weapons found on company property (including the parking lot) are grounds for immediate termination.

The old union leaders warned us about it implicitly when we hired in. Seems at one time there was a Civil War reenactor who was illegally parked or something or other, and when they went snooping around his car for his ID, they found a musket. Threw him out immediately.

It's a big telemarketing company with offices in about a dozen states/territories.

Obviously, being in NJ, I can't carry. However, if i did, i have the following:

Colt Gold Cup srs 70 .45 ACP tuned with a 3 lb. trigger, ambi safeties, Pachmyer finger-groove wraparound grips.
    Wilson 8-shot mags.
    Winchester Silvertips.
    Sonny Crockett horizontal shoulder holster.

    This is the by-the-bed gun.

    Backup: Ruger SP-101 with .38 +P Hydrashocks
Or: S&W compact 9mm w/12-shot mags (a little bulkier than the revolver)

A Ruger P345 with 230gr Hi-Shoks is usually my carry of choice.

Ya know, you don't have to start a gun thread every day. I mean, I think everyone here knows I like 'em an all, but this is just getting a bit...weird.

I'm going to the range for annual qualification either this evening or Friday and I was gonna post photographs of the results, but I think we're getting into the realm of overkill.

Edit: Of course, I've always wanted Gunforge to have it's own forum. If ya'll think there'd be enough interest, lemme know.

I don't concealed carry, I don't have the license and couldn't carry it most places that I go anyways, but I still want one. I own a Springfield XD-40, a yugo SKS with a modified stock, and a M44 rifle.

What if I'm not with my family? What if she's out shopping on her own?

Oh, yeah, a manly man wouldn't let his wife do things on her own, right?

Apostle, listen to the man. He speaketh the truth. Then again there are a multitude of other forums out there for owners of firearms. Its like using the bat signal. Calling for gunforge should be used judiciously.

So, what happens when YOU'RE the one out and about...and you've got LittleFlow? Mrs. Flow having a permit doesn't help if she's not there.

My gf has a carry permit and weapon. If she's out on her own, by all means, she carrys. Heck, she carries when she's with me. But, she knows if there's any action, I'm throwing myself in front of her to take bullets.

    I'm her bullet sponge. :)
